Scope of application
The GC2 series switching capacitor contactor is mainly suitable for connecting and disconnecting power capacitors in compensation circuits with AC 50Hz and rated voltage of 380V to adjust the power factor of the power system. The contactor has the ability to suppress inrush current, so that the peak inrush current when connected is not greater than 20 times the rated working current. The applicable working conditions are the same as those of the GC1 series contactor.
The GC2 series switching capacitor contactor is derived from the B-series AC contactor product, so its technical performance indicators are the same as those of B-series AC contactors with the same current specifications, except for mechanical and electrical life. This product consists of two sets of special auxiliary contacts and current limiting and forced discharge resistors assembled on both sides of the contactor. When the capacitor is put into operation, the auxiliary contacts of the series current limiting resistor are first closed, limiting the charging surge current of the capacitor to within 20 times the rated current Ie of the capacitor. Then, the main contact of the contactor is closed, limiting the second surge current to within 20 times. This structure requires a combination of contactors and current limiting reactors, which were previously used, and eliminates a set of contactors and reactors, resulting in significant cost savings. This type of contactor overcomes the disadvantage of CJ16 and CJ19 series contactors having no discharge resistance, which causes the residual voltage of the capacitor to be too high when the capacitor is put back into operation for the second time, resulting in the burning of the current limiting resistor of the contactor and even the welding of the contact. A forced discharge resistor is installed. When the contactor cuts the running capacitor off the grid, the normally closed contact of the special auxiliary contact of the contactor is closed, and the capacitor is short circuited and discharged through the forced discharge resistor to ensure that the residual voltage of the capacitor is not greater than 50V when it is put back into operation for the second time, meeting the technical requirements and avoiding the burning of the current limiting resistor and the welding of the main contact of the contactor. The GC2 series of switching capacitor contactors with 5 current specifications features advanced and innovative design, high operational reliability, and high technical and economic indicators. They are indispensable components in compensating capacitor cabinets.
Technical parameters of GC2 series switching capacitor contactor
The contactor can be equipped with CA7-10 or CA7-01 auxiliary contact sets, and the required quantity will be ordered separately (GC2-32, 43 up to 4, GC2-63-85 up to 6). GC2-32 type body comes with a set of normally open auxiliary contacts, while other specifications do not come with auxiliary contacts.
