The QCRB series high-voltage thermal resistance starting control device is suitable for large and medium-sized high-voltage squirrel cage AC asynchronous motors or high-voltage synchronous motors with asynchronous starting, used for voltage reduction starting. The motor started by this device has the soft starting characteristics of low and constant starting current, gradually increasing torque, no current shock or mechanical shock during the starting process, minimal impact on the power grid during starting, no electromagnetic interference, and is an ideal substitute for starting reactors and autotransformer voltage reducers. Compared with high-voltage variable frequency soft starters, it also has obvious advantages such as simple operation, maintenance free, and no harmonic pollution. The high-voltage thermal resistance starting control device is widely used for voltage level 3kV, 6kV, 10kV, power range 280kW~20000kW to larger capacity motors for voltage reduction soft starting.
Basic Principles
The high-voltage thermal variable resistor starting control device consists of three-phase balanced resistors with negative temperature characteristics. When a current is applied to the resistor, the temperature of the resistor gradually increases while the resistance value gradually decreases, thereby causing the motor terminal voltage to gradually increase and the starting torque to gradually increase, in order to achieve a smooth start of the motor and reduce the starting current. The device consists of a thermal variable resistor, a high-voltage soft start control cabinet, an isolation cabinet, a switching cabinet, and a star point control cabinet. It is supplied as a complete set and connected to the motor starting circuit. It has the function of starting the motor and completing the protection during the motor starting process.
