The KYZ-J-250 electric locomotive DC converter (hereinafter referred to as the DC converter) is suitable for underground industrial production departments in coal mines where there is no risk of gas, coal dust, or explosion. It serves as the working power source for electric locomotive lighting and electric horns and is a replacement product for old-fashioned thyristor DC converters.

The casing of the DC converter consists of a shell, a cover, and an introduction device. The shell and cover are both made of ZL102 aluminum alloy die-casting, and the shell is cast with heat dissipation fins. The shell contains electronic circuit boards, transformers, and other components. This DC converter adopts new switching power supply technologies such as pulse width modulation and status monitoring, which have the advantages of preventing power reverse connection, automatic shutdown when the voltage is too high, extending the life of the light bulb, and shock absorption. The DC converter is equipped with lighting fixtures, red signal lights, and electric speakers, providing technical assurance for coal mine safety production.
