Principle of operation
The RW6G-60 outdoor high-voltage drop out fuse mainly consists of an upper static contact, an upper moving contact, a fuse tube, a lower moving contact, a lower static contact, and a rod insulator. During normal operation, the fuse locks the movable joint between the melting tube and the moving contact, so the melting tube is in the closed position under the pressure of the upper static contact. When the fuse is blown, an arc is generated inside the melting tube, and the arc extinguishing tube lining the melting tube produces a large amount of gas under the action of the arc. At the zero crossing of the current, a strong ionization effect is generated, which extinguishes the arc. Due to the melting of the fuse, the movable joint is released, causing the melting tube to sag and rapidly fall under the pushing force of the upper and lower elastic contacts and the weight of the melting tube itself, forming a clear isolation gap.
