Application and Troubleshooting
Applied to overhead power lines
Instantaneous faults provide an eight hour fault indication, allowing line personnel to troubleshoot the faulty section of the line.
Investigate the lines that automatically clear faults and the lines that successfully reclose after tripping to improve the reliability of power supply.
Install and run
The AutorANGERTM fault indicator can be easily installed on overhead conductors through insulating rods for single-phase or three-phase applications. The fault indicator is equipped with a highly integrated microprocessor that continuously samples the load current in the system and automatically adjusts the threshold based on the sampled current value.
Instantaneous and permanent fault indication
After the fault occurs, the fault indicator flashes a red light to indicate a permanent fault. Subsequently, the fault indicator enters a two minute latch mode, allowing for reclosing and switching actions. Two minutes later, AutorANGERTM will detect the system voltage and load current to determine whether the fault is transient or permanent. If it is an instantaneous fault, the system voltage and system load current will reset. Otherwise, the red light indicating a permanent fault will display for 4 or 8 hours based on the current before the fault.
Day and Night Modes
Built in AutorAngelTM fault indicator with photoelectric sensor to detect natural light conditions. In daytime mode, the lights facing forward on both sides flash at maximum brightness to indicate a permanent fault. In night mode, the brightness of these two lights is reduced to save energy (as shown in the picture). In this mode, a set of built-in lights simultaneously illuminate the transparent housing of the entire indicator, ensuring visibility at a distance of over 1000 inches from the indicator and adapting to 360 degree angles. The pulse adjustment circuit with flashing lights optimizes brightness and battery life.
