The D series dynamometer is a traditional product. In the early 1960s, Shanghai Diesel Engine Factory provided foreign prototypes for imitation, filling the domestic gap and receiving commendation from the Ministry of Agricultural Machinery.
This D-series dynamometer has nearly 10000 units and is widely familiar to power machine testers. It is also a basic model for students majoring in internal combustion engines in universities to receive enlightenment education.
Over the past 40 years, although this type of dynamometer has undergone several evolutions, the internal structure of the main body has not undergone significant changes.
The D series (pin type) dynamometer has not undergone significant changes, but users can choose whether to use oil cup drip lubrication or grease lubrication according to their requirements.

The main body is a pin type structure. Its working principle is to stir water through multiple pins on the rotor and stator to generate resistance, which is transmitted to the housing. Through a mechanical weighing force measuring mechanism or tension pressure sensor, the load gauge indicates the load value (or torque value), and the speed is displayed by an electronic tachometer.
The working condition of the dynamometer is changed by adjusting the water inlet. The amount of water entering determines the thickness of the inner water ring and the corresponding measured load value. The opening size of the drainage valve can adjust the outlet water temperature. Because for the same measured power, the unit is the amount of water passing through the dynamometer in the interval, and the temperature of the water inside the chamber is low, while the opposite is high.

·Simple structure, easy to use and maintain.
·Pure mechanical type, with low technical requirements for operators.
·The pointer indicates the load value, and the accuracy is relatively lower compared to the YP series hydraulic dynamometer and DW series eddy current dynamometer.
·Elastic connection is used between the dynamometer and the engine.
